Roadmap
What we are building, and when.
Last reviewed: .
The four phases below cover roughly twelve months of forward trajectory for Memagen™. Each phase has a date range we are willing to defend, a one-line summary, and the concrete deliverables we expect to ship in that window.
Quarters past Q4 2026 are at year granularity on purpose. The further out a date is, the less honest a specific quarter would be. If a phase slips, you read about it on this page first.
Now — Q2 2026 (April–June)
The v4 substrate-as-hero rebuild is live, and the supporting infrastructure for the open-core release is in flight.
- v4 substrate hero shipped. The compound-graph memory substrate is the load-bearing surface on the marketing site, with a 3D timeline visual rather than a stack of feature cards.
- Recorder and anonymizer infrastructure shipped. Action-graph recording, opcode-stream materialization, and the anonymizer pass that strips identifiers before any cross-session analysis are all merged.
- Memagen™ Lite extraction in progress. The graph-stripped open-core harness is being lifted out of the monorepo for an MIT release: action tools, multi-provider routing, lenient parser, capability vault, AutoMCP, AutoWebMCP.
- Pricing and licensing locked. MIT for Lite, EULA for the proprietary tiers, Founder Member program live on the site.
Next — Q3 2026 (July–September)
Open-core launch quarter. The free tier goes public, the first paid tier opens for purchase, and the funding pipeline runs in parallel.
- Open-core public launch. Show HN and Product
Hunt the same week, with the Lite distribution available via
pip install memagen-liteunder MIT. - Pro Memagen™ Local on sale. The $20/month or $200 lifetime tier — bring-your-own-LLM, runs on the user's machine, no relay through Memagen™ servers. Includes the Pro Skills Pack monthly drops.
- Grant applications in flight. Independent developer / startup credit programs for inference capacity, submitted in parallel; approvals are asynchronous and we will note them on the changelog as they land.
- Founder Member program active. First 100 buyers of Pro Memagen™ Local lock in deferred Connected access at the founder rate.
- Autonomous maintenance loop running internally. Scoped, read-mostly maintenance work — test triage, commit message drafting, memory consolidation — on a separate Memagen™ instance, ahead of public beta in Q4.
Later — Q4 2026 (October–December)
Hosted product launch quarter. The relay-backed Connected tier becomes a real, full-priced product, and the autonomous maintenance work becomes something users can opt into.
- Pro Memagen™ Connected production launch. The hosted tier comes out of MVP and onto a real SLA, at $100/month and $200/month.
- Autonomous maintenance loop public beta. Users can enable the maintenance loop on their own Memagen™ install: test runs, triage, commit message drafting, memory consolidation. Code changes still always require user approval.
- Second specialty pack. Following the Pro Skills Pack, a vertical specialty pack ships at $20/month or $200 lifetime, proprietary-licensed.
- Founder Member SLA backstop in force. If Connected slips past Q4 2026 by more than 90 days, founder members get the contractual remedy described in the program page.
Future — 2027 and beyond
Year-granularity on purpose. These are real plans we expect to ship, gated on revenue, funding, or non-engineering work (legal, regulatory, insurance) rather than on dev time.
- SaaS 2.0 with the proprietary graph. The IP-heavy compound-graph engine, dream agents, code-intelligence modules, and cognition modules — accessed through the hosted product, multi-provider with usage caps. This is the tier where the high-IP work earns its keep.
- Self-modification with sandboxed review. Memagen™ can propose changes to its own code; every proposal runs against a sandboxed copy of the test suite and a set of behavioral canaries before reaching the master branch. Default-off, user-approved per change, with a 7-day single-command rollback. An optional unattended mode is gated behind explicit opt-in and stronger guards.
- Domain-specific specialty packages. Niche, tightly-scoped vertical packs — the Pro Skills Pack and the first vertical pack are the template; further packs ship as the community signals demand.
- Long-horizon, undated. Edge deployment on Raspberry Pi / NUC / phone-class hardware, multi-instance cooperation on the same LAN, and an enterprise hosted offering with a real contract surface (DPA, sub-processor list, audit log export, SSO). Real plans, but pinned, not scheduled.
